The QCore Installation team set off from Stansted airport on the 22nd of July and headed to Milan Malpensa airport in Italy, where we were greeted by the owners of Q-Zar Legnano, Angelica and Carlos. After a quick drive we arrived at their site in Legnano.
Angelica and Carlo gave us a tour of the site so we could go over the plans and prepare the equipment for the installation. We were then treated to an evening of Italian hospitality with great food and fantastic beers.
On Tuesday we removed the old Q-Zar Elite (Quasar Elite) system and charging setup in the vesting room. We then installed the INFINITY wireless holster charging system.
The Wi-Fi network in the arena was then installed and tested on Wednesday morning. Even more hospitality followed with an amazing lunch BBQ. In the afternoon, the computer system was configured and we then setup the phasers, vest packs and multifunctional arena devices.
On Thursday we commissioned the system and ran our final checks before conducting two training sessions for the staff; System Operations Training (where we train the staff on the INFINITY system and how to run and create games) and Equipment Maintenance Training (which includes a full break down of the phasers and vest).
After the training we went through all the pre-configured INFINITY game modes with the staff and installed and setup the games they wanted to have running at the site.
Now the fun part. Game testing. With the help from all the staff at Q-Zar we ran through the whole catalogue of games downloaded. (Juggernaut, Capture the Flag, Eliminator and Zombies to name a few). After some very tight matches we packed up the installation gear, said our goodbyes and thanks to our brilliant hosts and headed to the airport.
All in all the installation went incredibly well. We are thankful to our hosts, Angelica, Carlo and all of the staff at Q-Zar for their hospitality throughout the installation.
If you're ever in Legnano you should definitely make your way to the Q-Zar site, which is not only one of the best Laser Game sites in Italy, it now boasts one of the best Laser Tag Systems in the world. INFINITY.
